We were a little concerned when we read that dogs can be reluctant to change to a new bed. Rosie, our beloved seven year old golden retriever, can be stubborn and certainly took a couple of years before she deigned to sleep on the nice bed we had got for her at the time. But we replaced this bed with the Baker & Bray bed the day it arrived, putting it in her favourite sleeping spot under the stairs, replacing the previous bed. Every detail, when you need it
Around 40 recycled plastic bottles per Ultimate, on average. The outer fabric is made from recycled PET bottles and is soft, durable, non-toxic and hypoallergenic. It is tested to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Product Class II for products that come into contact with skin.
The orthopaedic mattress repurposes premium-grade memory-foam offcuts, while surplus mixed polyester fibre from the textile industry fills the bolsters. Replaceable covers help preserve the useful interior of the bed for longer.
The memory foam, the fibre and the inner pouches are designed to be repurposed or recycled. Local collection and recycling options vary, so check the appropriate route before disposal.

Four things, in order: enough room to lie the way they actually sleep, support that still holds its shape in a year, a way to wash it, and an entry they can manage. The Ultimate uses individually cut memory-foam pieces rather than one solid slab, which is what lets it distribute weight and let air move through the cushion. The cover unzips for washing at 30°C, and the front is lower than the sides so an older or shorter-legged dog can step in rather than climb.
It is the bed we would choose for one, for measurable reasons rather than a claim: the lower front entry means stepping in instead of climbing, the memory foam distributes weight where joints press, and the sides give something to lean against when getting up. What it does not do is treat anything. If your dog is stiff, limping or in pain, that is a conversation with your vet first, and a supportive bed is what you add afterwards.
