Why Essentials

Some things become part of the routine without making a fuss. A throw on the sofa, towels by the door and practical pieces ready for the next walk. Each is designed to make life with a dog feel a little easier, without compromising the way your home looks.

The throw has two surfaces rather than one: a soft fleece side for cooler moments, and a water-resistant side designed to feel lighter in warmer weather. The towels dry a soaked coat faster than a bath towel and take up less room. The cooling vest is for the days in summer when a walk has to happen anyway.

Is the throw safe to wash with the rest of the laundry?

Wash it on its own at 30°C. It keeps its handle longer that way, and dog hair has a habit of transferring to everything else in the drum.

Which side of the throw is which?

One side is soft fleece, for cooler moments. The other is water-resistant, which sheds the worst of a wet coat and feels lighter in warmer weather. Use whichever side suits the day.

Are the poop bags compostable?

No. They are made from recycled plastic, which is a real reduction in new material, but they are not compostable and should not go in a food or garden waste bin. Put them in general waste unless your council says otherwise.

When would a dog need a cooling vest?

On warm days, for a dog who still needs a walk: flat-faced breeds, thick-coated breeds and older dogs feel the heat first.
